KINGSTON, Jamaica — The much-anticipated third staging of the Digicel Grand Prix Athletics Series was launched earlier today with over $15 million in cash and prizes to be won.

The top performing boy and girl will win an all expense paid trip to the 2017 IAAF World Relays in the Bahamas.

The Series will involve five meets in the Western, Eastern, Central and Corporate Area Championships along with the GC Foster Classics.

The Digicel Grand Prix runs off on Saturday, February 18, with the Western Championship at the Catherine Hall in Montego Bay.



It will then move to the Eastern Championship on February 28 and the Anthrick Corporate Area on March 2. Both meets will be held at the Usain Bolt Track at the UWI campus.

The series will be rounded out with the Central Championship on March 8 at the GC Foster College and concludes with the GC Foster Classic at the National Stadium on Saturday, March 11.

The defending champion schools are St Elizabeth Technical High School for boys and Edwin Allen High for girls. The winning schools will walk away with $1 million each.
